Mr. Carpenter serves as a Materials Engineer in the Prototyping and Powder Technology Branch of the Armaments Engineering Analysis & Manufacturing Directorate at the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC). He received his B.S. in Materials Engineering in 2006 and his M.S. in Materials Engineering in 2012, both from Rutgers University. During the last 10 years at ARDEC, he has concentrated on powder metallurgy techniques for defense applications. His areas of expertise include powder synthesis, processing, consolidation, and materials characterization, focusing on the process-to-product relationship. Over the last three years he has concentrated on metals additive manufacturing in the areas of rapid prototyping, novel designs, and qualification and certification. He is currently serving as an ARDEC Project Officer, leading a team for a Metals based Additive Manufacturing ManTech program working on the new build and repair of weapons systems components.
