Conference Abstract: This presentation will showcase the development of additively manufactured multi-part tooling and end-use components for custom composite cycling shoes.

We will guide you through the entire design process, demonstrating our breakthroughs using digital tools. Leveraging digital tools was essential for saving on manual labor time and material consumption. Highlighted tools will include 3D scanning, reverse engineering, convergent modeling, subdivision modeling, and AI assisted texturing.

A diverse range of DLS photopolymer resins proved valuable in numerous shoe applications. High temperature resins were utilized for tooling of vacuum bagged prepreg carbon fiber parts. Dual-cure elastomeric resin successfully resolved detailed textures and met requirements for outsole components.
