Beginning Your am Journey - Start with Tooling

Conference Abstract: There are three application buckets in AM this includes models/prototypes, tooling, and end component manufacturing. Most start with models and prototypes but this does not often have immediate impact and ROI. Using AM in plant operations can immediately create momentum and save money. There are also many value added aspects of AM tooling which can spark generate positive change in your organization. We will discuss the AM aspects of Industry 4.0 and 5S. Use cases will be cited including applications for jigs, fixtures, lift mechanisms, assembly aids, etc.
